Can you come for a talk/signing/convention?

I’d love to! But it’s not up to me, entirely. Please click here if you’d like Lucy to come for a visit!

What is your availability for work?

I’m currently fulfilling a number of publishing contracts, but for any inquiries, please email my agent, Holly Bemiss.

What pen/paper do you use?

For sketchbooks, I've been using the Kuretake Zig pen. All my sketches are straight-to-ink without any penciling, because I find that it loosens me up for later, more technical work. In my finished comics and graphic novels, I use blue lead pencils to make the sketches, then I use Faber Castell PITT pens to draw the finished comic. I color my work either on the computer or with watercolors. I dig Canson's Illustration paper, which I use to make my own sketchbooks. My Peapod Farms books were drawn with a combination of Blackwing Pencils and digital technique. They were colored beautifully by Whitney Cogar.

Why do you call your kid Pal/Palindrome?

It's not easy to be related to an autobiographical cartoonist. I try to be respectful and kind when including my friends and family in my work. When Pal was born, I knew that I would want to draw them and share stories about them with readers, but I didn't want to subject them to Internet name recognition, or expose them to future embarrassment (I mean, as much as a mom CAN mitigate embarrassment...). Because I'm writing about them and they appear in my comics, I've chosen an Internet code name: PAL. It's short for "Palindrome," because their birthday was a palindrome date. It's not their real name, but it's cute.

When is your next book coming out?

The next book in the Peapod Farms Series (Stepping Stones, Apple Crush) is called Sugar Shack, and is coming out August 2025. You can preorder it now!

Can you draw me a...?

Commissions are closed at the moment, but please consider following me on Patreon, where I will occasionally open commissions to patrons, and sometimes solicit photos for extras to appear in crowd scenes in my comics.
